Does the Beach Have to be THE Place for Vacation
I don’t quite understand why our culture insists that the beach is the place to vacation. A day at the beach consists of sitting on hot sand or getting in salt water. Either way you are sanding and sticky when your time there is complete and most of the time people leave sun-fried-red. How is this enjoyable? Ok maybe if you’re a kid this is appealing. Don’t get me wrong I make it a point to enjoy myself when I go with my family. I stay away from the sun as much as possible, sit in a chair, and don’t get in the water much. Occasionally I will dig a large hole to entertain the kids. Somehow I think being with the family in a place other then our home can be enjoyed just as much, if not more, in some other location then the sandy-hot-mess the beach is. For those of you who say , “I like to get a tan”… Stop it! Your skin was made lite live with it, the “tan” is your skin trying to protect itself from the harmful rays of the sun. It’s not attractive. Also find somewhere else to do this besides peoples vacation spot. I’m happy with my red-neck and sock line, you should be too.

just another worthless blog

you make me laugh like nobody else…
My esteemed friend and fellow curmudgeon (notice I said “fellow,” as in, “we are equal in this,” as in, “we are joined in our curmudgeonliness”) Kerrin has posed a very valid question about vacations. “Does the beach have to be THE place for vacations?” he asks.
A question well worth considering. The answer is yes.
