hawaiian pizza, why?

hawaiianpizzacould there be a more offensive form of pizza then this? i submit, no there cannot! first of all who every decided to put fruit on pizza was a bone head and must have something wrong with their taste buds. pineapple was meant to be a refreshing, sweet, enjoyable snack/dessert, just ask God. now i am fairly certain that the natives of hawaii not only loath being associated with such a disgusting dish but i would venture to say they are offended by it’s presence on the menu. how do the hawaiians eat their pineapple? not on a pizza.

Personally, I love Hawaiian pizza but I won’t dispute it has nothing to do with Hawaii, according to the Wiki link here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawaiian_pizza

It’s quite popular in Australia, the west coast of the US and the EU. Not sure where I got my taste for it. It’s probably my very favorite pizza topping combo. Papa John’s does a great job of making this delightful dish.

I assume you’ve actually had Hawaiian pizza, is that correct?

yes i have tried this pizza and will never, if i can help it, eat it again. as a general rule i don’t think meat and fruit go well together.

since this is your favorite pizza you may like putting oranges and fish on your pizza also, you could call this Floridian Pizza?

Thanks for the feedback. My soon to be wife’s (getting married in nine days!) family is from Hawaii and interestingly enough, they don’t care for pineapple on pizza at all. My fiancé does though, thankfully. ^_^

In response to your inquiry, I think that oranges wouldn’t be so good because of how big and juicy they are that they would come out as mushy chunks. Something smaller is needed, like Mandarin oranges! As a disclaimer, I haven’t tried it but it sounds tantalizing. I hate anchovies though. Yuck. So, nope, not a fan of fantasy flavors such as oranges and fish. Oh, on the other hand, what about Salmon… Now that’s an interesting thought.

smoked salmon may indeed go well on pizza.
